5 Random Questions

26 Jan

I bit on “The Interview” challenge from my bf (blog-friend) Mike.  Here are the rules:

1. If you want to participate, leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

So, here we go.  I might have more fun asking questions, so please don’t hesitate!  And once again–I’m Thinking Too Hard!

1.  Why did you start a blog?

Well, I was pretty intrigued by this interview and thought I would like to see what questions I got and how I would answer them…  So, I said to myself “Maybe you should start a blog”.  And here I am.  I always liked to write when I was in college and thought I could bring some of those skills back to the surface. Surprisingly I like reading about virtual strangers’ lives and thought maybe some of those strangers would like to read about me & mine!

2. What are three of your favorite blogs to read and why?

Three?  That’s a LOT for me right now.  I am highly addicted to Elissa Bass from The Day newspaper and her TV blog although I am frequently reprimanded for not posting enough.  That is probably the only one I read regularly.  I have been reading my new bf’s Mike’s alot though (see above).  I am sure I could better answer this question in a couple of weeks when I have more bf’s.

3. Blogs are (we hope) non-fiction for the most part. Who is your favorite fiction writer and why?

This is a tough one for me to narrow down to ONE author.  I am somewhat of a voracious reader and to pick just one author…seems so limiting.  (again, I’m Thinking Too Hard!)  That being said, I don’t think you can pick a favorite author who only has one or two books.  I think to reach favorite author status the author should have more than 3 books.  I don’t think you can say an author is your favorite until you know the first or second book wasn’t a fluke.  That being said, I think I would pick Jodi Picoult for my fave.  I have read the majority of her books and I would give all of them at least 4 stars (out of 5).  To have as many books as she does (15) and have them all be good is a pretty big feat.

4. It’s Christmas — are you serving turkey or ham? Explain.

This isn’t even hard.  Turkey.  Without question.  Turkey.  Why?  I don’t like ham.  It’s very simple.  If ham is the only meat being served on Christmas, I take more potatoes.

5. Regardless of your favorite type of music to listen to, who is an artist/band you like from another type of music you didn’t think you’d like?

This is another tough one for me…I really like all kinds of music…hmmmm…(I’m Thinking Too Hard!).  I’m opening my iTunes to find out which of these things is not like the other…and I’ve got nothin’!  I’d like to have an answer for this, but I don’t!

ps–does anyone else think it is weird that this BLOG tags the word “blog” with the spell-checker?
